Shape-Master
Tool Company has at its disposal over 40 PCBN grades
and greater than 20 PCD grades. With this wide variety,
and knowledge of their individual strengths, we can
choose the best grade to suit the abrasion resistance
and toughness needs of your workpiece material and machining
operations. If you're not being asked to consider multiple
grades, it may be that your vendor has limited options
available to them. We can further optimize your tool
with the appropriate edge preparation, radius, rake
angles, wipers, chipbreakers, and coatings through a
thorough consideration of your application's severity,
surface finish and dimensional tolerance requirements.
|
Because
of this customization, we won't bore you with endless
tables of 'standard' products. If you need an indexable
diamond or PCBN insert, Shape-Master can make it for
you at a competetive price. Geometry capabilities include
rounds, squares, diamonds (80°, 55° and 35°),
trigons and triangles. We also manufacture grooving,
threading, form tools, microbore, and square or round
shank turning tools. PCD and PCBN tool styles include
both negative and positive single-tipped, multi-tipped,
full edge, and fulltop as well as solid PCBN inserts.
And every tool we make receives our unsurpassed scrutiny
with regard to edge integrity.

Shape-Master
does not make tool holders or milling cutters. As such,
we won't tell you that you need to replace these costly
items to use our inserts. We can make inserts in almost
any geometry. We may occasionally recommend a holder
change if it has the potential to reduce cost-per-edge
or enhance performance. Shape-Master also proactively
reworks polycrystalline tools. We'd be happy to explain
whether you could expect significant savings through
regrinding and/or retipping of your tools. Challenge
us to prove we can help you save money. Complete our
